IMPACT OF A LIFESTYLE INTERVENTION ON CARDIOMETABOLIC BIOMARKERS

(intramurally funded ASPIRE sub-study of HIPP - Health in Pregnancy and Postpartum)
The purpose of the sub-study is to examine how behavioral lifestyle intervention affects levels of blood markers related to heart health during pregnancy.

NUTRITIOUS EATING WITH SOUL STUDY

The purpose of this 24-month intervention study, is to examine how a plant-based, soul food diet and a low-fat, standard, soul food diet, may help improve heart disease risk factors and nutrition in the African American community, and help with weight loss.

PWAS STUDY

The PWAS study is funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to examine how body weight, body composition (bone, muscle, and fat), and sleep patterns change in the first year after giving birth to an infant among African American and White women.
