Why you chose to pursue your degree within the ASPH: As a pre-medical student, I find it important to understand the human science rather than just the science science, such as biology, chemistry, or physics. Public Health truly encompasses and addresses many things current medical education really doesn't. I find it important, as a future physician, to understand the determinants and risk factors which play a role in the lifestyle and overall health of any given person. Hence, I am a Public Health major and love it!
Advice for future students: Get involved with as many organizations on campus as possible and take any opportunity that arises during your time here at Carolina. Especially during your first few weeks, never say no and go out of your comfort zone. You will meet so many amazing people and truly appreciate your time when pursuing your undergraduate degree.
