Why you chose to pursue your degree within the ASPH: I chose to pursue a BS in Public Health within the ASPH because of the intersectionality between public health and social determinants of health with medical care and practice. I'm passionate about addressing issues at the root cause, and through this degree, I'm able to understand and contribute to meaningful change at the systematic level to improve health outcomes. As a future physician, learning and applying practices of holistic healthcare and population health will help me in successfully treating patients in the long-run. ASPH has been a wonderful asset in my journey with amazing professors and the instant community feeling within the whole school!
Advice for future students: My advice to future students is to get involved and explore as much as possible! College goes by so fast, so take advantage of all of the opportunities, clubs, and events going on. Forming connections and expanding upon your passions is a great way to make the wonderful USC campus feel like a smaller community. College is can be a scary and challenging experience, but staying involved and finding your people makes the whole experience memorable. Step out of your comfort zone and explore!
