Responsibilities
- Oversee and monitor student performance.
- Hiring and training of undergraduate and graduate academic advisors.
- Supervisor of three academic advisors.
- Facilitate effective execution of student academic advisement (both undergraduate and graduate students).
- Serve as the point person for students who need to leave the college due to hardship reasons.
- Collaborate with college administrations, faculty, and staff to develop policies and procedures that support the college’s withdrawal process; works closely with academic advisors, campus resource providers, on-and-off campus medical and mental health clinicians, and academic departments to service the critical needs of students seeking withdrawal and support services.
- Develop key collaborative relationships with campus administrative areas, faculty, and campus and community leaders to enhance planning and implementing strategic initiatives, resolving issues, and responding to crisis incidents.
- Serves as the primary point of contact and supervisor of record for all graduate assistants within the college.
- Provide direction and intervention for students in crisis and non-crisis, including intervening with mental health staff, providing victim advocacy, and working with staff and students affected by the crisis.
- Provide leadership and guidance in analysis, review, creation and interpretation of student policies and procedures.
- Serve as a resource to university faculty and staff in dealing with students' disruptive behavior within and outside the classroom.
- Develop strategies for promoting student engagement and learning in collaboration with academic affairs.
- Remains up-to-date with state and federal legislation regarding student services, and ensures that the college’s policies and procedures are congruent with the legislation.
- Prepares and presents enrollment and progression updates and reports.
- Responsible for planning and coordination of the college’s annual hooding celebration.
- Responsible for the GA matching process.
