A native of Columbia, SC, Mary Grace Strickland is a 2022 graduate of the College of Social Work’s MSW program and received her BSW at Winthrop University in 2021. Her social work background ranges from experiences in both the macro and micro settings. Her work with individuals and communities extended to the student population during her employment as a Graduate Assistant for the College of Social Work. She supports student ownership throughout their academic careers by informing resource availability and knowledge of student options within program requirements. Mary Grace offers a unique perspective to advisees through her recent personal experience of the MSW program at the University of South Carolina.

Advice to Students: Ask lots of questions! No question is a dumb question.The only thing that is silly is to feel unsure of yourself. Graduate school can feel isolating at times. Make connections and become aware of the supports offered to you on our campus.
