Spring 2016 award deadlines

Spring is award season at the University of South Carolina. Students should be aware of the upcoming deadlines for applications and nominations for annual awards.

Carolinian Creed Champion Awards

The Carolinian Creed Champion Award recognizes individuals who have made significant and extraordinary contributions to the Carolina community while embodying the values espoused in the Carolinian Creed. Nominations of University of South Carolina Columbia faculty, staff and students are due March 25. The student award will be given April 14 at the Leadership and Service Awards ceremony.

International Student Achievement Award

The International Student Achievement Award is awarded each semester to one graduating international student at any degree level who has demonstrated excellence in academic achievement and shown a commitment to campus and/or community engagement. Faculty, staff and students can nominate a student through March 28.

Environmental Stewardship Awards

Nominations for the Environmental Stewardship Awards are being accepted for students, faculty and staff who have made a positive impact on the environment. Nominees should have demonstrated a high standard of stewardship to the Carolina environment, including beautification programs or creating a sustainable environment for campus. Nominations will be accepted until March 28.

TOAST (The Outstanding Achievement and Student Triumph) Breakfast

The Outstanding Achievement and Student Triumph (TOAST) Recognition Breakfast honors students who deserve recognition in any area of student life. These students can be honored for excellence in the classroom, commitment to a student organization, university department or program, achievement in athletics or arts, etc. This program recognizes all student leaders who may not otherwise be formally recognized for their commitment to student life and the Carolina community. March 31 is the deadline for nominations.

John N. Gardner Inspirational Faculty Award

Each year the John N. Gardner Inspirational Faculty Award is given to a faculty member who has been an outstanding advocate for students. The faculty member’s participation in activities should have enriched the campus learning experience for students both on and off campus. Nominate a deserving faculty member now.
