Nordstrom Snapchat Challenge comes to campus

Up to 2,000 seniors will be given $100 certificates towards the purchase of shoes from Nordstrom when the department store retailer comes to campus on Tuesday (April 12).

Nordstrom is coming to campus because of the efforts of Hospitality, Retail and Sport Management students in the university's chapter of the National Society of Minorities in Hospitality competing in a Snapchat Collegiate Battle Royale. Nordstrom will set up a makeshift department store tent from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Davis Field. Students can get into the tent by showing their student ID.

Nordstrom also will be giving free foot massages and prizes.

At 1 p.m. there will be a runway walkoff competition judged by model Karlie Kloss with 10 students. Five finalists will be selected from the group based on a crowd vote. The finalists will get to keep the shoes they walked in and will get a group picture with Karlie.

The National Society of Minorities in Hospitality students, with all their efforts to promote the event, won the Nordstrom Snapchat Challenge over other universities including UCLA, Oregon, Arizona and Florida State.
