Basketball tipoffs may affect parking near arena

Campus community members with night classes need arena district parking approval to avoid fees



Two Gamecock basketball exhibition games at Colonial Life Arena as well as Koger Center events on Monday and Thursday will affect faculty, staff and the university community’s parking this week.

Monday (Nov. 1): The Gamecock women’s basketball team hosts Benedict at 7 p.m., while the Koger Center for the Arts holds a TobyMac concert.

Thursday (Nov. 4): The Gamecock men’s basketball team takes on Benedict at 7 p.m. in a free exhibition, while Gamecock volleyball hosts defending national champion Kentucky at the Carolina Volleyball Center and UofSC Dance holds a concert in the Koger Center at 7:30 p.m.

Parking will be $10 for those coming to the games or shows on Monday and Thursday. Faculty, staff and students who are scheduled for evening classes in the arena district may take the following to the Parking Services office at the Pendleton St. Garage (1501 Pendleton St.) to get clearance to park during these evening events near the arena:

  • Valid UofSC permit
  • Printed copy of your class schedule
  • Picture ID
