"I play the trumpet in the Carolina Band, and this is my second year. Deciding to
join the marching band here was a no-brainer because I knew that I would find a home
in the activity that I have grown to love since my freshman year of high school. It
was never really about the marching and playing, but the great times I've had hanging
out with the band. Of course, not every day in band is the greatest ever, but what
makes it all worth it are the game days. It's where everything we've learned in band
comes together, and it's basically a guarantee of a crazy fun Saturday every time.
Another fun aspect of the band is traveling with the band for away games. I really
enjoy this part because it's like a three-day vacation with a game day in the middle.
All meals and the hotel are provided, so we don't really have to worry about anything
on the trip. We're just there to have a great time with some band sprinkled in. This
year we get to fly to the Missouri and Texas games, so it's gonna be great."
