Campus Conversation: Lindy Linebaugh

"In my personal life, I value drive and compassion, and working for the Student Success Center combines these things perfectly. The entire office is dedicated to helping students be the best versions of themselves, and it's special to be a part of it. I love my SSC family! This year has been chaotic, just like everything else. Several of our shifts were altered to best fit the new safety guidelines, and some shifts were even suspended for the semester. At the beginning of the year, we had the option to choose what kind of schedule we were most comfortable with: all virtual, all in-person or hybrid.

The best ways to prepare for online classes are staying organized and being aware of the resources available to you. Make sure you're checking Blackboard and Outlook daily, as well as creating a schedule at the beginning of each week. I also recommend printing your syllabi for easy access to course schedules and information. You can also check online at sc.edu/success to see what resources the SSC has for your classes.

Staying on task at home can be difficult. My number one tip is simple: get dressed. If you dedicate a little time to putting yourself together every morning, you'll be more productive and ready to take on the day. It's a small change, but it makes a huge difference. As always, find a quiet space, minimize distractions and figure out what study methods work for you."
