"I chose SPTE as my major because it is one of the top programs for sport and entertainment management in the entire country. The program has a large faculty and endless experiential learning opportunities such as The Masters and the Kentucky Derby to get industry experience to put on my resume. I also loved that the SPTE program allows me to complete two full time internships during my time in college. My goal is to work in the business analytics segment of the sports industry. I founded the Sports Analytics Club to give students an opportunity to learn about how to analyze data in a fun and interesting way. We get to learn from guest speakers who do data analytics for some of the top professional sports teams around the country. We also have begun to work on our own research projects analyzing sports data.
My favorite part of being an HRSM leader is the opportunity to be involved in every major event that is put on by the college. I love speaking with prospective students, giving them tours around our college, and trying to help them make their best college decision that they can. Being a part of that process is really rewarding when they choose to make Carolina their home."
