Example of a Chemical Label

Now that you understand the kinds of information found on chemical labels, and have reviewed some commonly found hazard symbols, take a look at this label from a container of Toluene Sulphonic Acid.

As you can see, there are several hazards associated with using this particular material.  It is extremely irritating to the eyes and skin; therefore appropriate personal protection equipment should be worn.

Also, the symbols identify this chemical as both a fire hazard and a poison!
