Riley Shoemaker earned her B.A. in psychology and is currently in the Ed.S. Counselor Education with a concentration in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of South Carolina. Riley is currently serving as a Graduate Research Assistant for the National Resource Center for The First Year Experience and Students in Transition. She is serving as a research assistant on two major projects supporting The Center’s research agenda: (a) the 2023 National Survey on the First-Year Experience and (b) Advising Success Network (ASN) grant funded project examining the student experience at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU). She is also a graduate member staff for the Journal of the First-Year Experience and Students in Transition. Additionally, she is a participant in the grant-funded project PRISM: Providing Resources to Increase School Mental Health Support.
