Every student deserves equal access to all aspects of the UofSC experience. Our team coordinates
efforts to ensure that students with disabilities receive reasonable accommodations,
and we serve as consultants to faculty, staff and campus partners.
Effective immediately through the remainder of the spring semester, the best way to
contact the Student Disability Resource Center staff is via the email address listed
below. In an effort to practice essential social distancing, our staff will be telecommuting
and as such will not be at their desk to answer phone calls.

of the spring semester.

To apply for accommodations, students must register with the Student Disability Resource
Center. The application process does take time to complete and requires documentation
from a treating physician.
Students who are already registered need to request new accommodations every semester.
We encourage you to work closely with your professors to keep them informed of your
USC students experiencing a temporary injury may qualify for assistance if the injury
negatively impacts your ability to succeed in the classroom.
A Note to Parents
You’ve been there for your student. Now “being there” means allowing and encouraging
your student to manage his or her responsibilities, needs and disability. Only the
most extreme circumstances, such as those that seriously threaten the health of the
student, allow for direct parental or other family involvement.
Waiver to Share Information
Students can sign a waiver in our main office to share information with parents. However,
even if the student has signed this waiver, the office may still only communicate
with parents or other parties with the student present.
Any student may file a disability-related complaint or appeal in writing to the Student
Disability Resource Center. One of our Assistant Directors will act promptly to resolve
