Abstract

Tokuno reports the results of two studies involving three student cohorts involved in the Freshman Interest Group (FIG) program at the University of Washington. The first study examines the effect of the FIG program on scholarship for the 1990 cohort. The second study furnishes long-term data on scholarship, progress, and retention of students from the three student cohorts and compares this data to students from the same matriculating classes who were not in the FIG program.
