NSF: Consortium for Advanced Manufacturing Foresights Defining the Critical Needs of the Advanced Manufacturing Research Community NSF 15-565

Accelerating U.S Advanced Manufacturing (http://www.whitehouse.gov/sites/default/files/microsites/ostp/PCAST/amp20_report_final.pdf), the October 2104 report to the President produced by the Steering Committee of the Advanced Manufacturing Partnership 2.0 (AMP 2.0) for the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST), calls for the creation of a technology-focused consortium to provide coordinated private-sector input on national advanced manufacturing technology research and development priorities. This solicitation is to establish the Consortium for Advanced Manufacturing Foresights (the “Consortium”) to implement that recommendation. A Consortium proposal must be submitted by an existing organization that is a consortium or that represents a consortium, with a stake in basic research and education in advanced manufacturing. Such an organization may submit only one Consortium proposal. The submitting organization must be a legal entity eligible to receive federal funding.

USC may submit only one consortium application in response to this program announcement. Your application submission MUST be coordinated with the Office of the Vice President for Research. Please send a two page abstract via email to Richard White (whitejrw@mailbox.sc.edu) by May 15, 2015. In addition to the 2-page abstract, you should also submit a biosketch for the PI.

NSF indicates that a LOI and Preliminary Proposal is Not Required and a full proposal is due by July 20, 2015. For more information: http://www.nsf.gov/pubs/2015/nsf15565/nsf15565.htm
