Registrar/Records

The Office of the University Registrar maintains stewardship and integrity of student academic records and manages effective policies and practices regarding registration, academic progress, and graduation for the University of South Carolina.

Transcripts

All official transcripts are processed at USC Columbia.  A transcript request is processed 2-3 days after receipt. If you have a financial obligation to the university, a transcript will not be released.

Before You Order a Transcript

Follow the simple steps in this preorder checklist to make sure the process runs as smoothly as possible.

  1. Confirm that all grades and degrees have been posted to your record.
  2. Check the accuracy of your name. Complete a Name Change Request [pdf]  if your name is incorrect.
  3. Confirm that you have no outstanding financial obligations to the university.
  4. Verify the accuracy of the recipient’s email address or mailing address.

Ordering a Transcript

If you’d like an official transcript, you can order one online. The university does not accept transcript requests via fax or email.

If you come to the registrar’s office in person to request a transcript, you can add expedited shipping by bringing a pre-paid FedEx® shipping label. Requests received in the registrar’s office after 12:00 p.m. will be processed the next business day.

International Mail

Transcripts are mailed as first class international mail. There could be extended delays in receiving your transcript in some locations. In time sensitive situations, expedited shipment through FedEx is recommended. See instructions above for expedited shipping.
