Should I complete a readmit application?
You should complete a readmit application if you are:

• A former USC student wishing to return to the University after missing the fall or spring semester. Readmission to the University and to the program in which you were previously enrolled is not automatic. A petition may be required.

When should I apply?

• Spring 2008 (January) semester: applications must be submitted electronically or postmarked by November 1, 2007. All credentials are due by January 2, 2008.
• Maymester 2008 semester: applications must be received by April 1, 2008. All credentials are due by May 2, 2008.
• Summer I 2008 (June) semester: applications must be submitted electronically or postmarked by May 1, 2008. All credentials are due by May 23, 2008.
• Summer II 2008 (July) semester: applications must be submitted electronically or postmarked by June 1, 2008. All credentials are due by June 27, 2008.
• Fall 2008 (August) semester: applications must be submitted by June 1, 2008. All credentials are due by August 8, 2008.

What are the requirements for readmission*?
Generally, students must have a 2.0 GPA. Some programs have specific requirements:

• Biology: You must have a 2.0 GPA if you were in biology previously; 2.5 GPA if not in biology previously.
• Business Administration: You must have a 3.0 GPA and at least one semester of calculus with a grade of "C" or better.
• Cardiovascular Technology: If you have 0-29 credit hours, you must have a 2.0 GPA; with 30-59 credit hours, you must have a 2.5 GPA; with 60 credit hours or more, you must have a 2.75 GPA.
• Chemistry: You must have a 2.0 GPA if you were in chemistry previously; 2.5 GPA if not in chemistry previously.
• Education (early childhood, elementary, or middle school)- You must have a 2.0 GPA with less than 30 credit hours; 2.25 GPA with 30 hours or more.
• Engineering: You must have a 2.5 GPA and a "C" or better in MATH 141.
• Exercise Science: You must have a 2.0 GPA if in exercise science previously; 2.75 GPA if not in exercise science previously.
• Hospitality, Retail, and Sport Management: If you have less than a 2.0 GPA, you must petition for readmission.
• Journalism: You must have a 2.5 GPA for all college work, including any transfer work taken prior to an earlier USC enrollment.
• Liberal Arts: If you have less than a 2.0, you must petition for readmission.
• Music: If you were previously not a music major, you will need to audition. If you have less than a 2.0 GPA, you will need to petition.
• Nursing: You must have a 2.75 GPA and a "C" or better in all science courses.
• Pharmacy: You must have a 3.0 GPA.
• Physical Education: If you have less than 40 credit hours, you must have a 2.0 GPA. If you have more than 40 credit hours, you must have a 2.5 GPA

What if I attended another college or university after having attended USC?
You are considered a transfer student. Such applicants must meet the same requirements as transfer students. In evaluating your application, we will look at your transfer GPA and USC GPA separately.

What if I was suspended from USC?
You may apply for readmission after completing your suspension. You must qualify for readmission to the major program requested. To attempt to return to the University prior to the completion of the suspension period requires:

• an application for readmission and a petition for reinstatement if a major semester has been missed; or
• a petition for reinstatement if the attempt is being made after notification of suspension but prior to missing a major semester. A petition for reinstatement is made to the University college or school from which you were suspended.

If you attend another college-level institution while suspended from the University, you must maintain a satisfactory average at that institution in order to retain the privilege of being considered for readmission at the conclusion of your suspension. The University does not transfer credit earned during a period of suspension, but the quality of grades could affect the decision for readmission.

How do I apply?
The easiest way to apply is by completing an online application. Before you can begin your online application, you must first set up an account with a unique user ID and password. Once you've begun your application, you may save it and return to it as many times as you wish.

What if I have a problem while completing my online application?
E-mail help@collegenet.com, and state your problem as clearly as possible. Documenting the steps that led up to the error you are encountering is especially helpful. In the unlikely event that you experience an error, troubleshooting assistance is available at this address.

How much is the application fee?
Application fees vary:

• If you previously attended USC Columbia in a degree-seeking status, you must submit a $10, nonrefundable application fee.
• If you previously attended USC Columbia in a non-degree-seeking status, you must submit a $50, non-refundable application fee.
• If you attended another USC campus but never attended the Columbia campus, you must submit a $50, nonrefundable application fee.
• Full-time USC Columbia employees, their spouses, or dependent children (ages 24 or younger) do not have to submit an application fee.

I do not want to complete an electronic application. I want paper instead. What are my options?
