Payton is captain of both the varsity baseball team and the varsity swim team. He is also the team leader of the Engineering Club and captain of the Academic Team. Payton is a member of the National Honors society. He has also participated in Palmetto Boys State and has volunteered for Relay for Life for the past four years.
