Academics
The Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies (120 credit hours) is a four-year multidisciplinary degree that provides the tools employers want, such as critical thinking, communications and problem solving skills. Working in collaboration with an advisor in the Extended University Office, each student will design a curriculum that focuses on a two-discipline major, supported by special required courses, a cognate and elective courses.
All courses required for the Liberal Studies major are available online.* If you need classes outside the major, your advisor will help you find options.
The Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies has several unique courses in its curriculum—a South Carolina studies course that instructs students about their state and region; an internship that allows students to apply classroom knowledge to real-life experiences in the community and a senior capstone course that merges areas of study and emphasizes critical thinking, communications and problem solving.
