This is an outstanding opportunity for USC friends all over South Carolina to get involved in the Bicentennial. Because our Bicentennial events and projects will take place throughout South Carolina, we are establishing a group of statewide Bicentennial Partners to be our contacts for these activities. We will correspond with these Partners to keep them informed of all plans and developments, and to seek their input and ideas for activities in their communities.

We are seeking Partners of all ages and connections to USC. Please email the Bicentennial office to sign up (grantzj@gwm.sc.edu), or call us (803-777-1801) for more information. You may also click here to sign up for Bicentennial Partners.

Students:

As a project of the Bicentennial Student Events Committee and the Division of Student and Alumni Services, the search is on for the six individuals who most embody the Carolinian Creed. The entire student body is asked to vote by November 17 for one individual for each of the six categories:

  • Art, Entertainment, Pop Culture and Sports
  • Business, Industry, Science, Technology and Medicine
  • Education, Literature and Media
  • Politics, Law, World Figures and Government
  • Religion
  • Alumni

The 69 nominees have been selected by Search for Six Committees. Once a favorite from each category has been selected, student organizations and academic departments will work together to bring these six individuals to campus. To see a list of nominees or vote, visit www.sa.sc.edu/searchfor6.
