Dear members:
Since we had heard rather little recently about the plans for the
Congress in 2001, I
wrote Paris to see what was cooking. Here is what I learned.
1. The second circular will go out in September, to everyone who
returned the first
circular. It will have a provisional program, as well as information on
registration costs,
accomodations, and on how the Abstracts of communications should be
submitted.
2. The deadline for the submission of these Abstracts is presently
being set as the
beginning of February 2001. The length will be restricted to one
typewritten page of A4
size; it will have to be submitted on disk as well as on hard copy. More
details will be
coming in the second circular.
If you never returned the first circular - in other words, if you wish
to try to get on
the mailing list - by all means write J.-F. Vannier, College de France,
Centre d'histoire et
civilisation de Byzance, 52 rue du Cardinal Lemoine, F- 75005, Paris,
France. I assume you
can still get on the list - but if not, don't worry, as we can get the
information to you next
fall from here. You can also keep an eye on the Web page, via
http://byzance.dr10.cnrs.fr
That's about all I know right now. I hope it helps - and that it leaves
you the
summer to relax....
