As a part of the University of South Carolina, the Salkehatchie regional campus plays an important role in the lives of the citizens of the mostly rural regions of Allendale, Bamberg, Barnwell, Colleton, and Hampton counties, as well as neighboring areas. With locations in both Allendale and Walterboro, USC Salkehatchie offers the citizens of its service area the opportunitiy for a higher education and noncredit continuing education courses. Salkehatchie offers associate in arts and associate in science degree programs, and its primary purpose is to provide the first two years of a university education, offering USC Columbia courses taught by USC approved faculty. Further, USC Salkehatchie is committed to the education of the state's diverse citizens through its endeavors of teaching, research and creative activity, and service.
