Career Peer Educators...
Helping students find their way!
The Career Peer Education (CPE) program
provides the opportunity for students to contribute to the career development of
their peers by assisting with Career Center presentations, resume critiquing,
marketing and promotion, and career events. The CPE program also promotes the
professional development of the CPEs by improving their communication and other
job-related skills, and providing an increased awareness of career resources.
CPEs are responsible for assisting the
following areas of Career Center operations:
Presentations
-
Give presentations on the following topics:
General Overview of Career Center Services, Making the Most of a Career Fair,
Introduction to Resume Writing, JobMate and On Campus Recruiting, and others.
Resume Critiques
Resources
-
Work in the Career Center Library, giving
tours and assisting students with understanding Career Center services, locating
materials, using JobMate, OptimalResume, and other resources the Career Center
offers.
Marketing and Promotions
-
Market upcoming Career Center events by
distributing table tents, posting flyers in assigned buildings, announcing
upcoming events in classes or at student organization meetings, wearing Career
Center CPE shirts on designated days.

Act as a spokesperson/representative of the
Career Center when networking with students, faculty, and staff on campus.
Career Fairs and Special
Events

Assist with event logistics (i.e. preparation
for events, set-up at events).

Greet and direct students and employers to
appropriate locations.

Serve as table hosts at etiquette dinners.
