Want to own a one-of-a-kind piece of glass art? The hand-crafted vase pictured here was donated to the Carolina Alumni Association by Mark Woodham and Tommy Lockart, two graduates of the USC art department whose glass-blowing craftsmanship is on display at their business, One Eared Cow Glass in Columbia.
The vase will be silently auctioned at the Nov. 3 Homecoming Gala in the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center at 1101 Lincoln St. with all proceeds benefiting the scholarship fund at the Carolina Alumni Association. The 16-inch tall vase vase, which has a retail value of $380, will be on display that evening with a bid sheet posted nearby.
Bidders must be at least 18 years old, and the winning bidder assumes all responsibility for transporting the art piece after making payment to an agent of the Carolina Alumni Association. Payment is due at the conclusion of the auction Nov. 3 by personal check, cash, or major credit card. The Carolina Alumni Association reserves the right to manage the auction in any way it deems appropriate.
