SC DSS (ABC
Child Care Program)
The S. C. Department of Social Services (formerly the S.C.
Department of Health and Human Services) is the lead child care
agency for South Carolina and partners with a large group of
providers and agencies statewide to accomplish its mission. SC
DHHS provided support for the design and equipping of the
center's rooms and playground according to WestEd, SC DHHS, Head
Start, and S.C. Department of Education guidelines. SC DSS now
uses the center as a training site and statewide model for
quality early care and education.
|
SDE
The SC Department of Education (SDE) contributes to the Center
by supporting the goal of creating a model early childhood and
family literacy program that may be viewed by local
practitioners here in our state and across the nation as they
incorporate practices which will lead to NAEYC accreditation and
national High/Scope accreditation.

ETV
When the Center opened ETV brought the technical resources of
education television, its extensive digital satellite network
for use in distance education, and its wealth of experience in
producing "best practices" video training and distance learning
resources for early care and education. This partnership also
provided both children and staff of SCTV's The Children's Place
the opportunity to join the project.

Schuyler and Yvonne Moore Family Foundation
The Moores are passionate advocates for children. Without their
generous support, this project could not have happened. All of
the partners are indebted to Sky and Yvonne Moore for their
visionary leadership and for working with us to make this
project a reality.
