SCHOLASTIC ORGANIZATIONS

The scholastic press organizations of the College of Mass Communications and Information Studies serve middle and high school journalism programs in South Carolina (S.C. Scholastic Press Association) and the southern region (Southern Interscholastic Press Association.)

Both SCSPA and SIPA are dedicated to the advancement of scholastic journalism. Through their publications, workshops, conferences, conventions, evaluations, critiques and various competitions, SCSPA and SIPA strive to promote and uphold a high degree of professionalism in scholastic journalism and mass communication.

Directors of both organizations provide advisers with resources for their individual needs and help establish a network of support through each organization’s membership.
