Applied Statistics I
CLASS SESSION BEGINS: Thursday, August 23, 2012
General Information: Course will be delivered by Web conferencing utilizing Adobe Connect. Students may be present, either in person or online, for the class sessions on Mondays and Wednesdays, 4 - 5:15 p.m., or may view the class at a later time. USC Columbia students may attend classes in the Close-Hipp Building (Moore School of Business), Room 204. All other students will view classes via the Internet and may call in with questions. For students viewing the class live online, the Adobe Connect URL will be posted in Blackboard by the instructor prior to the first class meeting. Students viewing at a later time may visit the Web site at http://video.sc.edu; click on the appropriate college/school and then your class link to view lectures. Your instructor will provide a link in Blackboard for the required ID and password to access the streaming video files. High-speed Internet access is required for Adobe Connect and streaming video.
Class Cancelled Information:
There will be no class on Sept. 3 or Nov. 21.

Graduate Bulletin Course Description: Introduction to probability and the concepts of estimation and hypothesis testing for use in experimental, social, and professional sciences. One and two-sample analyses, nonparametric tests, contingency tables, sample surveys, simple linear regression, various statistical packages. Not to be used for M.S. or Ph.D. credit in statistics or mathematics.
