Introduction to Statistical Theory II
CLASS SESSION BEGINS: Monday, January 14, 2013
General Information: Course will be delivered by Web conferencing utilizing Adobe Connect and by video streaming. Students may be present, either in person or online, for the class sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays, 4 - 5:15 pm., or may view the class at a later time. USC Columbia students may attend classes in the Close-Hipp Building (School of Business), Room 204. All other students will view classes via the Internet and may call in with questions during class time. For students viewing the class live online, the Adobe Connect URL will be provided by the instructor prior to the first class meeting. Students viewing at a later time may visit the Web site at http://video.sc.edu; click on the appropriate college/school and then your class link to view lectures. Your instructor will provide the required ID and password to access the video streaming files. High-speed Internet access is required for Adobe Connect or video streaming.

Graduate Bulletin Course Description: Continuation of STAT 702. Topics include discussion of theoretical properties of point estimators and tests of hypotheses, elements of statistical tests, the Neyman-Pearson Lemma, UMP tests, likelihood ratio and other types of tests, and Bayes procedures in the decision process. Not to be used for M.S. or Ph.D. credit in statistics.
