Curricular Role of the School Library Media Specialist
CLASS SESSION BEGINS: Monday, June 03, 2013
NOTE:
Please register for SLIS J742 no later than May 27, 2013. This is a Summer I/Summer II course (June 3 - Aug. 8, 2013). SLIS J742 requires collaboration with a practicing teacher and access to that teacher's school library. Both must be secured before the semester begins.
On-Campus Sessions/Orientation Information:
There will be one optional session at USC Columbia on Saturday, July 13, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. ET, in Davis College, Room 111.
Online Session Information:
There will be one live online session via Adobe Connect on Monday, June 3, 4:30 - 6 p.m. ET. Students may participate live online for the session or may view it at a later time; students will be responsible for the content covered. The Adobe Connect URL will be posted in Blackboard by the instructor prior to the session. High-speed Internet access is required for Adobe Connect.

Graduate Bulletin Course Description: Role of the school library media specialist in integrating the school library media program into a K-12 standards-based curriculum, including best practices, needs assessment, collaboration, instructional design, and resource provision.
Prerequisites: SLIS 701, 706 and required education courses (for initial certification candidates); SLIS 703 preferred
