Effective Data Management for Public Health
CLASS SESSION BEGINS: Thursday, August 22, 2013
General Information: This is a videostreaming course utilizing Adobe Connect, but students will be required to attend an orientation session on Aug. 26, 10 - 11 a.m. USC Columbia students will attend the orientation in Wardlaw College, Room 116; all other students will view orientation online via live chat on Adobe Connect and may call in with questions during class. Adobe Connect URL will be posted in Blackboard by the instructor prior to the date of orientation. Students viewing the orientation at a later date and for the video streaming site, visit the Web site at http://video.sc.edu; click on the appropriate college/school and then your orientation or class link.
On-Campus Sessions/Orientation Information:
Students will be required to attend sessions at USC Columbia for lab sessions and exams. All labs and exams will be scheduled in the Health Sciences Building, Room 204. Lab sessions are Mondays and Wednesdays, 10 - 11 a.m. The final exam is on Wednesday, Dec. 9, 9 - 11:30 a.m.

Graduate Bulletin Course Description: Statistical data management techniques. Microcomputer applications, communication between microcomputers and mainframe, tape and disk storage, access of large health-related databases.
