Faculty Friendly Policies for USC Faculty
The Family Friendly Policies, as presented at the Faculty Senate Meeting, June 27, 2007, by Dr. Christine Curtis, Vice Provost for Faculty Development, promote an academic culture that is supportive of faculty and their families. These policies went into effect on August 16, 2007.
  - Two revised:
        - Extension of Tenure Clock Policy (ACAF 1.05) and
        - Third Year Review (1.31)
  - Two new:
        - Modified Duties Semester for Faculty (ACAF 1.60) and
        - Dual Career Accommodation Policy (ACAF 1.61).

Computer Purchase
Educational discounts are available to USC students, faculty and staff from several vendors.

Extension of Faculty Tenure-Track Probationary Period
This link will take you to HR policy ACAF 1.31 which allows faculty members during their probationary period to request an extension of appointment due to a serious health condition or requirements of childbirth, adoption or placement of a foster child.

Faculty/staff Dependents' Scholarships Applications Available Dec. 1
The scholarships are open to the dependent children or spouses of full-time slotted employees in the USC system. The Faculty/Staff Dependents' Scholarship is valued at $1,500 for students attending the Columbia campus, $1,200 for students attending the Aiken, Beaufort, and Upstate campuses, and $800 for students attending the Lancaster, Salkehatchie, Sumter, and Union campuses.

Family Fund Benefits
As a donor to the Family Fund, you may take advantage of the generous discounts offered by community sponsors.

PerksCard Discount Program Announced for State Employees (May 5, 2005)
National discounts are available from vendors such as Lowe's, Blockbuster Video, AMMCO transmissions, AVIS, and Reebok Outlet Stores. There also is an online Perks Store from which purchases can be made at savings up to 33 percent.

This meeting will be broadcast live via satellite to all USC campuses by University Instructional Services on State Circuit 308. Please check with your local media coordinator for the specific channel on your campus.
