EMCH 553 Nuclear Fuel Cycles. (3) (Prereq: EMCH 552) Processing of nuclear fuel including fabrication, irradiation, and waste disposal or storage. In-core and out-of-core fuel management. Fuel cycle economics.
Also approved to be offered via telecommunications/internet.

EMCH 555 Instrumentation For Nuclear Engineering. (3) (Prereq or Coreq: EMCH 552 or PHYS 511) Basic operational principles of radiation detection and nuclear instrumentation systems. Selection of the proper detector to measure radiation. Statistical analysis of results.

EMCH 555L Nuclear Instrumentation Laboratory. (1) (Coreq: EMCH 555) Use of nuclear radiation detection and instrumentation systems and computers. Data acquisition and analysis.
