CONTINUING EDUCATION

1997-1998 Annual Report

The members of this year's Faculty Senate Committee on Scholarstic Standards and Petitions - Continuing Education were:

Constance B. Schulz, History Department - Chair

Celso DeOliveria, Spanish, Italian & Portugese Department

Robert Janiskee, Geography Department

During academic year 1997-98, only two petitions were forwarded to this committee. Both were in reference to grade changes connected with student misunderstanding of the period for award of a "W" grade, were supported by the faculty member involved, and in both cases, the committee agreed to the student's petition.

Prof. Janiskee has agreed to become the chair of the committee for academic year 1998-99; Prof. Schulz is rotating off the committee, and Prof. Gail Whitman-Elia, Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology has been appointed to the committee in her place.
