Friends from the University of South Carolina remember the victims of the fire.
There are few people you meet in life you can truly call inspirational. Allison Christine Walden was one of those people.
Allison, known among friends and sisters as Allie, was a beautiful, bright and talented young woman. Allie came to USC all the way from Chagrin Falls, Ohio, not knowing a single person, but quickly found herself creating a new home here in Columbia.
Allie was never seen without a big smile spread across her face. She was definitely what you would consider a "social butterfly" to be. You could always find Allie sitting in the upstairs study of the Tri Delta house, lounging around in her sweats, typing away on her computer and looking up all of Perez Hilton's latest blogs.
She was an exercise science major with hopes of returning home for graduate school. Allie was without a doubt someone who knew how to appropriately balance social life and schoolwork.
Allie lived life to the fullest, and there was not one thing that could bring her high spirits down. She was one of the most positive spirits any of us have ever met. Those who were close to Allie know that she was a friend and a sister you could rely on. She was there if you needed to cry, laugh or just hang out with on a lazy Friday morning.
She had a wonderful sense of humor. She was very laid back and loved listening to music such as Dave Matthews, Tom Petty, and Coldplay. Allie was adventurous and loved to travel. Last summer she went to China with the Capstone Scholar Program, and had hoped to make another trip overseas this upcoming summer.
Allie is a presence that will be missed here at the Tri Delta house as well as on the USC campus. She touched so many and she may never know the impact she has made on our lives. We love you and Allie, and you will always be our sister.
