The University of South Carolina will hold a memorial service at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 7, at the Koger Center to honor the six Carolina students who died in a house fire Oct. 28 at Ocean Isle Beach, N.C.
Justin Michael Anderson, Travis Lane Cale, Lauren Astrid Mahon, Cassidy Fae Pendley, William Robert Rhea and Allison Christine Walden will be remembered by members of their immediate family and the University of South Carolina family.
"Since learning the tragic news, students have been holding vigils and informal gatherings to express their grief," Dr. Dennis Pruitt, the university's vice president for student affairs, said. "This ceremony will allow their families and the entire university community to come together to remember and celebrate the lives of these promising young people."
The memorial service will be broadcast live statewide by the SCETV Network. More details will be released later.
