The National Resource Center for The First-Year Experience and Students in Transition will award up to five fellowships to undergraduate students for the 2009 Annual Conference on The First-Year Experience, which will be held in Orlando, Florida. The fellowships pay the participant’s conference registration fee, but no travel or lodging expenses.
Who Should Submit an Application?
The Annual Conference on The First-Year Experience Fellowship Program is open to all undergraduate students who are enrolled for the 2008-2009 academic year. All students who are interested in first-year programs, mentoring first-year students, and/or any other aspect of first-year student life and leadership are encouraged to apply. The purpose and aim of this fellowship program is to advance the leadership skills and knowledge base of undergraduate students so that they may in turn use what they learn at the conference to enhance and encourage first-year student development on their respective campuses. Only one applicant from a single institution is eligible to receive a Fellowship.
Deadline for Submitting Applications
The deadline for the 2009 Annual Conference has passed. Fellowship awards for the Annual Conference will be announced in mid-December.

Fellowship Application Review Process
All applications will be reviewed by the staff of the National Resource Center for compliance with guidelines, and the staff will make the final fellowship award decisions. Fellowship awards for the 2009 Annual Conference will be announced in mid-December.
