The National Resource Center is pleased to announce the relaunched of the First-Year Assessment (FYA) listserv essay series on February 15, 2008. The FYA listserv is an online magazine that features invited, brief essays on assessment topics applicable to first-year programs and student development.

Essays will be published bimonthly during the academic year. The inaugural issue will include an essay by Andrew Wall and colleagues of the University of Rochester on alternative representations of assessment data. Future essays will focus on assessment of a technical college to four-year college bridge program, the impact of the Teaching Teams Program on student outcomes, and much more.

If you would like to subscribe to the FYA essay series, please subscribe To the FYA listserv at: www.sc.edu/fye/listservs/subscrib.html

If you have questions about the FYA essay series or would like to suggest an author or topic, contact Angela M. Griffin, Coordinator of Research, Grants, and Assessment at angelag@gwm.sc.edu or (803) 777-2134.

The National Resource Center hosts five listservs designed to bring together a broad cross-section of faculty, academic administrators to discuss college transitions, their impact on student success, and interventions designed to maximize student success. Approximately 5,000 educators participate in these listservs.
