The First-Year Reading Experience
The 19th Annual First-Year Reading Experience will be held on Monday, August 19, 2013 in the Carolina Coliseum. During summer orientation, students are provided with a copy of the 2013 selection, The Postmortal by Drew Magary.
The book includes a Reflections After Reading Guide to help students prepare for small group discussions that will take place at the First-Year Reading Experience.
On the morning of the event, all first-year students will gather at the Carolina Coliseum at 8:30 am, and Dr. Helen Doerpinghaus, Vice Provost and Dean of Undergraduate Studies, will welcome everyone. We are excited to announce this year's keynote speaker will be the author of The Postmortal, Drew Magary. Following the keynote session, students will participate in small group discussions of the text.
