Music

The School of Music prepares musicians for professional careers and leadership in music teaching, performance, composition, research and related fields. The school enriches the quality of life in Columbia, SC, and beyond by maximizing the power of music in the lives of our citizens and in the communities where they live.

School of Music Carolina Fund

We continue to support our areas of greatest need with gifts from donors like you.

Undergraduate Student Performance Scholarships

83 percent of all undergraduate music majors are on scholarships that total in excess of $800,000 expenditure per year. We have an imperative to continue to raise funds to sustain the quality of our programs.

Graduate Student Performance & Academic Assistance & Fellowships

We require a significant number of fellowships and assistantships to remain competitive with other institutions for graduate students. 66 percent of all graduate music majors are on this type of aid.

Southeastern Piano Festival

Begun in 2003, this festival is one of the crowning events in the School of Music’s annual season of great music. With your support, we can continue to bring the world of music to our community every summer.

Southern Exposure New Music Fund

Support the award-winning series devoted to exploring three decades of contemporary classical and world music, as well as masterworks of the 20th century.

The String Quartet-In-Residence and Chamber Music Endowment Fund

One of only a handful of private and public universities with a permanent string quartet in residence, USC’s School of Music hosts the Parker Quartet for a week each semester. Residencies allow concentrated teaching, outreach and performance for our faculty, students and the community.

USC Opera Endowment

Give to enrich the artistic and educational opera programs at USC.

USC Symphony Orchestra

Our talented student ensemble has become one of the premier university orchestras in the south.
