Sustainable Carolina is the collaboration of campus organizations, departments and individuals that are leading the transformation to create a sustainable campus. It does not represent any single department or initiative, yet is the cumulative efforts of all the students, staff, faculty, and community members of Carolina.

Reclaimed Runway 2014!
Our 3rd annual Reclaimed Runway Fashion Show was a huge success on Thursday, November 6th! With over 200 attendees filling the Russell House Ballroom to see these incredibly creative designs, this was our biggest event yet. This recycled fashion show was comprised of 13 student designs crafted from both upcycled and recycled materials with everything from a newspaper Victorian collar to a 6ft train made from plastic bottles. The evening's MC was none other than USC's Homecoming King, Riley Brady, who even took his own stroll down the runway!
Our wonderful judges included Ms. Megan Pinckney, Ms. Lindsay Richardson and Ms. Jillian Owens. The incredible talent showcased on the runway made for a tough decision, but eventually the top 3 winners were determined.
Congratulations again to Katherine Galang and her model Monica Gapud (1st place), Valeria Salas Guzman & Francisca Toro Forbes and their model Daniela Estrada Jaramillo (2nd place), and Amelia Shuler and her model Hannah Wessler (3rd place).
Thank you again to all of our partners, sponsors, designers, models and attendees for making this event both possible and fun! We're already looking forward to next year!
Special note: Be on the lookout for a post-event Reclaimed Runway survey! When you complete this survey, you'll be automatically entered to win a gift certificate of a 4 person pass for Adventure Carolina. Don't miss out on this opportunity!
Reclaimed Runway was covered by the Daily Gamecock and SGTV.

Due to the diverse cultures in the University of South Carolina and students from different countries, many cultures are represented in the food grown and the gardening methods used. This is only one of the many reasons why the University of South Carolina has no limits!
