Who are the EcoReps?
The EcoReps are peer leaders working to educate students about environmental issues through fun, interactive events. EcoReps also work with Sustainable Carolina, hall governments, student government and other campus organizations to make lasting environmentally friendly changes on campus. Find out about our upcoming events by following us on social media.
Become an EcoRep!
We hire new EcoReps for a one-year term each summer. The application is available online now through August 27. Each EcoRep is assigned a specific residence hall and is responsible for the following:
- Plan events promoting sustainable living
- Collaborate with RHA and Hall Governments to plan more sustainable events
- Manage the Green Dorm Room Certification Program
- Campaign for the University to implement more sustainable practices across campus
Green Dorm Room Program
Think you live green? Prove it by having your dorm room certified green by the EcoReps! To get certified, you’ll do a simple audit of your habits and submit it online. If you meet the minimum qualifications, your EcoRep will stop by your room with a window cling so you can show off how green you are. The levels of certification are: Mist Green, Light Green, True Green and Ever Green. Since we started the program, 297 rooms have been certified!
