Welcome to the Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR).
Mission Statement:
The Office of Undergraduate Research seeks to enrich the academic
experience of all USC undergraduates by providing research and scholarly
experiences in their chosen fields. The office promotes inquiry, discovery,
and creativity in all disciplines through faculty-student mentoring
relationships and the integration of instruction with research,
scholarship, and creative activities.
Not only are we encouraging our students to explore research
opportunities in the traditional areas of science, technology, and
medicine but also music, theater, and art – any arena that will
provide an environment for students to creatively explore their
interests at a level more in-depth than can be attained in the
classroom.
Any student who is working on a research project, whether funded or
not or receiving credit/no credit, is considered part of the
Undergraduate Research Program – so please tell us about yourself
and your project.

OUR will facilitate and coordinate mentorships between faculty and
undergraduates, enabling our students to work closely with the
University’s talented faculty.
The Office of Undergraduate Research…
Manages the Magellan Scholar fellowship program to support our
talented undergraduates in a mentored research experience
Provides venues for undergraduates to present and publish their
research, such as Discovery Day (a day for students to give
poster presentations of their work) and an undergraduate
research journal
Sponsors seminars for students to learn many of the skills
necessary for becoming successful researchersHow can you learn more?
