Welcome to the Summer Research Opportunities Database!!
Stop flipping burgers over the summer!!! Get paid for doing something you enjoy that will help build your
resume!
This database will help you identify research opportunities around the world, mostly over the summer and mostly for pay!.
Many programs have deadlines in early spring (February or March) except for government positions, which
often have fall deadlines. This database does contain a few internship opportunities but it is primarily
for research experiences. If you are looking for internships, please check out the Career Center website
at: http://www.sc.edu/career/.
How to use this database:
Sponsor: search by specific institution, for example: California (for University of California)
or Harvard OR by agency, for example: health (for National Institute of Health)
Location: search by country (France) OR state (use abbreviations: VA or CA)
Categories: all opportunities have been divided into one or more of the listed categories.
This will give you the greatest access to programs that may be of interest to you. Some opportunities fall
under more than one category.
Topic: search by specific research interests, such as: nanotechnology, archeology, etc.
Additional Info: Use this very carefully! Generally this describes program restrictions or requirements, for example: only open to freshman, seniors, or underrepresented, minimum GPA, or course prerequisites.
Let me know where you end up going!!!
