  I.   Policy
  A.   Telephone credit cards are issued upon request to USC
         faculty and staff by the Communications office.  These cards
         are intended for business use when away from the office. 
         Personal use is prohibited except at the discretion of
         department heads who then assume responsibility for
         collection of appropriate charges.
  B.   Fiscal Responsibility
  Departments assume all responsibility for the charges against
  cards issued to their staff and are responsible for monitoring
  proper use of cards.
  

II.    Procedure
  A.   There are three types of credit cards issued:
  1.   State - for use when placing calls within the State.
  2.   Southern Bell - for use within the United States.
  3.   AT&T - for use within the United States and
            International.
     
  B.   Credit cards may be obtained by submitting a departmental
         letter to the Communications office specifying the name of
         the individual receiving the card, the type card needed and
         the department and fund to be charged.
