New Programs and Program Revisions: Minors & Undergraduate Research Tracks for Graduation with Distinction
Establishing a minor or an undergraduate research track begins with completion of the Academic Program Action (APA) form, and requires approval at the departmental, campus/college/school and university levels. If the minor or undergraduate research track is an interdisciplinary program, letters of concurrence from all the relevant units are required. It is suggested that units proposing an interdisciplinary minor or undergraduate research track should pre-screen the courses they intend to incorporate from other colleges, to determine if they have enrollment restrictions or prerequisites.
Program revisions to minors and undergraduate research tracks require the
same sequence of approval steps as establishing them as new programs. The APA
form offers a menu of options for changing or terminating these programs.
General Approval Timeframe:
Six months from submission to Dean’s Office to admission of
first students.
