Music Community Visits Still Hopes Community
for the Holidays
The students of the Music Community, our on-campus residential hall that houses about 50 School of Music students, visited Still Hopes retirement/assisted living community in December 2012 to share holiday music with the Still Hopes residents.
The following MC residents organized the event and performed: Kinsey Mannion, Resident Mentor Anna Carro, Resident Mentor Austin Howard (was unable to perform due to the School of Music Deck Our Halls event but helped with planning), Alex Beaton, Bryan Ashmore, Ryan Van Buren, Ryan Everette, Kadeem Sabari and Albert Carter.
In addition to offering a variety of instrumental performances, the students and USC Music Admissions Director Jennifer Jablonski, the co-founder of the MC and part of the MC's leadership team each year, joined the Still Hopes residents to sing holiday carols.
The Music Community, a joint project between University Housing and the School of Music, provides students the opportunity to live with, learn from and collaborate with other musicians in their on-campus residential hall. Now entering its ninth year at USC, the Music Community is located in Thornwell, an apartment-style hall in the Horseshoe area.
