The University had more than 2,270 full-time faculty at its eight campuses in fall 2007, including more than 1,705 in Columbia. In addition, more than 4,500 full-time staff—nearly 4,000 in Columbia—support the University.
South Carolina faculty garnered more than $206 million in federal, state, and private funding for research, outreach, and training programs for fiscal year 2008.
