Work/Partner With Us

Want to get involved with our research? Their are several ways you can join SAGE in its research efforts.

Work for SAGE

SAGE is hunting for self-motivated and bright people to work with us. Here is a list of our opening positions.

Post-Doctoral Positions

The SAGE center is actively recruiting highly qualified post-doctoral researchers for multiple projects related to ammonia synthesis and decomposition for use in hydrogen storage and generation. Interested post-doctoral candidates with experience in experimental catalysis should contact Dr. Jochen Lauterbach.

Graduate positions

The SAGE Center employs doctoral students to research interface science, catalysis, and reactor design. Interested students must apply and be accepted into the College of Engineering and Computing at the University of South Carolina. Students entering the group typically have experimental or theoretical backgrounds in heterogeneous catalysis, materials science chemistry, or reactor dynamics. Interested students are encouraged to contact SAGE members to find out more about our research and open doctoral positions.

Undergraduate positions

The SAGE center is always looking for undergraduate students interested in expanding their educational experience at the University of South Carolina. Undergraduate students work under the guidance of graduate students, post-doctoral researchers, and faculty members. Typical research areas include nanoparticle synthesis/characterization and monitoring reactions. Students gain valuable wet chemistry techniques, instrumentation experience, and critical thinking skills. Let us know where your skills and interests may fit within the SAGE community.

Membership

You and/or your company can also partner with SAGE.
Founding members of SAGE include Santee Cooper and the South Carolina Power Cooperatives.

The Center has an Industrial Sponsors Program, with an annual membership fee of $50,000. Benefits of membership include:

  • Privileged recruitment of well-trained engineering graduates
  • Joint research programs
  • Access to state-of-the-art research facilities
  • Opportunities for industrial research sabbaticals
  • Annual research review

Challenge the conventional. Create the exceptional. No Limits.
