| Neil Weinstein and Dr. Paul Koch from
the nationally recognized Low Impact Development Center will lead this
two-day conference. South Carolina LID examples featuring professionals
involved in LID projects will be an integral part of both days’ sessions.
Neil Weinstein, P.E., R.L.A., AICP is the Executive Director and one of the founders of the Low Impact Development Center. Neil is a registered engineer and landscape architect and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Planners and the ASCE Urban Water Resources Research Council. He has a M.S. in Environmental Engineering from Johns Hopkins University and a M.L.A. from the University of Georgia. For the last 10 years Neil has primarily been focused on the planning, research, and design of innovative stormwater management practices, including LID. Prior to that he worked as a development engineer and planner on municipal, institutional, and private sector projects. Paul Koch, Ph.D., P.E., is a principal
water resources engineer and program manager with the Low Impact Development
Center. His primary professional activities involve the application
of LID in transportation engineering, and the development of simulation
techniques for the design and analysis of LID components. He has more than
10 years of experience in hydrologic and hydraulic analysis and has been
applying and evaluating LID design tools since 1997. Dr. Koch obtained
his B.S. in Civil Engineering from George Washington University, his M.S.
in Technology and Policy from M.I.T., and his Ph.D. in Biological Systems
Engineering from the University of Nebraska.
